Going Green

At CACI's more than 50 offices across the nation, we have programs in place to recycle paper, plastic, metal, and used toner cartridges. Our offices only carry recycled product paper towels, and a number of our pantry products are green as well. We equip our newer buildings and are retrofitting many of our older buildings with energy-saving lighting systems, and we continue to upgrade our offices with energy-efficient printers.

The U.S. Green Building Council recognizes many of CACI's newer offices, including our Commonwealth buildings in Chantilly, Va., as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) compliant. LEED is an internationally recognized green building program and framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations, and maintenance solutions.

Opened in December 2009, our Commonwealth buildings conserve energy by optimizing natural lighting – the light fixtures consume 25 percent less energy than required by code – and conserve water through energy-saving plumbing fixtures. Bike racks and showers serve employees who bike to reduce pollution and fossil fuel use. Other sustainable features include low-emitting paints, wood, and laminate adhesives that improve indoor air quality, and flooring and upholstery that contains high amounts of recycled material.
