- Standard Procurement System (SPS)
Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) provides automated strategic, streamlined contract management support for the procurement professional within a complete workflow management solution. PD2 is an integral part of the DoD's Standard Procurement System (SPS) which is integrating acquisition, logistics and financial management within one end-to-end enterprise business system.
As SPS has been deployed throughout DoD contracting communities it is providing the technology and business process foundation necessary for DoD to achieve its procurement business goals by
- Eliminating multiple outdated legacy systems and automating manual business processes
- Facilitating the standardization of efficient business processes to improve management across the enterprise
- Expanding the software functionality necessary to effectively award and manage contracts in the rapidly evolving eCommerce environment
SPS is deployed to more than 27,000 trained users and was used in FY 2011 to award over 800,000 actions, buying more than $190B in goods and services supporting the warfighter.
PD2 lets you automate and control your own procurement process in an integrated desktop environment that enables paperless and more efficient contracting. The intuitive desktop interface provides graphical document management, electronic routing and approval, web-based reference library with both federal and DoD acquisition regulations, the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) and ad hoc reports. The enhanced Help feature provides an online learning system that focuses on the procurement processes.
PD2 supports the complete end-to-end procurement cycle from requirements definition/initiation through solicitation, offer evaluation and award to contract administration and closeout. It provides improved funds management capabilities and support for all types of contract actions including agreements, BOAs and indefinite delivery contracts. Using both client/server and web architectures, PD2 is scalable and seamlessly integrates with Windows-based office software packages as well as with external legacy systems and other administrative systems.
Version PD2 v4.2 Increment 2 SR11 is the latest deployed version of PD2.
SPS Legacy Integration is an application that works with the PD2 Adapter to export data from PD2 for external legacy systems, as well as import data from external legacy systems into PD2.
