Department of Justice (DOJ) - Litigation

We provide sophisticated litigation support systems that have enabled the DOJ to effectively manage databases of over 75 million pages of documents. Our systems enable DOJ personnel to retrieve information across a number of different locations for use in case preparation and real time graphic display in court for over 200 cases, including the Winstar cases (stemming from the savings and loan crisis) and the Navy's A-12 aircraft litigation (related to the termination of the multi-billion dollar development contract for the Navy's A-12 aircraft). The support, provided in part through our proprietary ADIIS™ automated document imaging and indexing system, helped the Navy and DOJ win a decision in the A-12 case that involves allegations of damages in excess of $2B.

Department of Justice - Debt collection

We developed an automated debt management system called the Collection Litigation Automated Support System, or CLASS, to assist the DOJ's efforts in collecting amounts owed by delinquent student loan holders and Superfund-related polluters. CLASS tracks and calculates the amount and distribution of debts referred to DOJ as the collector of last resort. The system also tracks the collection litigation process by generating legal documents containing information for courts and attorneys. CLASS is installed nationwide at U.S. Attorney's offices, as well as offices of private counsel and the DOJ.

U.S. Navy Naval Supply Systems Command

We reengineered the system for updating official policy directives when we developed the Quality Automated Document System (QUADS). QUADS integrates off-the-shelf software products, hardware and custom interfaces and utilizes the Internet for the connectivity needed to support document distribution and management across virtually every Navy base, naval center, such as the Naval Surface Warfare Center, and port facility around the world.

Lifecycle Document Management for DoD Program

CACI developed a system to process, analyze and publish documents associated with the Army's Gulf War Declassification Program. This system processed the government's entire collection of health-related Gulf War materials and made it available on the web. The Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) awarded this project with both its Government Vertical Markets Solution Award, which recognizes the year's best new government KM system, and its prestigious Vision Award, for the system that provided the most "technology initiative with the greatest potential for transforming a business or social process."

Mission Critical Document Collection

As the largest supplier of litigation support services to the Department of Justice (DOJ), CACI helps manage the enormous volume of documents involved in federal litigation. A major aspect of this work involves the Mega 2 contract. CACI's Automated Document Image Indexing System (ADIIS™) plays a critical role in this effort. It saves DOJ time and money by automating the scanning and conversion of documents from paper, film, videotape and other media into machine-readable electronic forms for easy access by lawyers. Service-Wide Document Submission Management

CACI helped the U.S. Navy reengineer its mission critical system for updating official directives by developing the Quality Automated Document System (QUADS). Based on the popular Lotus Notes platform, QUADS succeeded in cutting the time needed by the Navy to update directives from at least 18 months to only three months. Utilizing the Internet for worldwide connectivity QUADS supports document submission management at practically every Navy base, center and port facility worldwide. Proven COTS technology combined with CACI systems integration provided this innovative solution.

Mainframe Hosted Imaging System

The State of North Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles agreed with many frustrated motorists that vehicle registrations took too much time. CACI worked within the existing information processing environment. We developed a sophisticated imaging system on the department's two IBM mainframes for rapid processing of vehicle titles and registrations. The installed system, called STARS, handles over 12 million images and is growing daily. Customer service response time has been cut from 20 to just three days. It is estimated that North Carolina taxpayers are saving about $36M over five years.

Managing Nationally Important Databases

The British Government needed a more efficient process and flexible KM system to manage the numerous ancient and architecturally significant buildings throughout the nation. CACI built the Listings Management System for the UK Department of National Heritage and the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England. The system was built using enterprise-wide products, including Target/WG by Altris, Staffware workflow and BRS full text retrieval engines. They are all supported by Oracle databases. The CACI developed system is now in full operation with over 200 users distributed throughout the United Kingdom.
