CACI Honors Former Board Member, Admiral Thomas H. Moorer, by Naming Headquarters Board Room After Him

A special ceremony took place recently on the 16th floor of CACI's international headquarters in Arlington, VA as the company's Board of Directors Room officially became The Admiral Thomas H. Moorer Board Room.

Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman, President and CEO unveiled the plaque beside the room's imposing double doors and performed the ribbon cutting ceremony that opened the newly named room. Inside, a framed tribute to the Admiral was exhibited on the boardroom wall.

Admiral Thomas H. Moorer (1912-2004) was a true patriot, a distinguished CACI board member from 1988 through 1993 and a friend of Dr. London. Admiral Moorer had a long and illustrious career in the Navy, becoming the first officer to command the Atlantic and then the Pacific Fleets. He was on the ground at Pearl Harbor during the 1941 Japanese attack that marked America's entry into World War II and served as a naval pilot in the South Pacific. He was shot down off the coast of Australia in 1942 and earned the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart for his service. In 1967 he was named Chief of Naval Operations, and in 1970 he was appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

In his remarks Dr. London spoke fondly of the Admiral, observing that he was, "a very special man… an exceptional, one-of-a-kind person - a war hero, a family man, a trusted member of the CACI Board of Directors."

Dr. London noted that Admiral Moorer's life and character are touchstones that all of us at CACI should emulate. He concluded by saying that, with the board room now named in the Admiral's honor, "We will always have a constant reminder, as we look to the future, of the rock-solid integrity and deep love of country that were as much a part of Tom Moorer as the Naval uniform he wore with so much honor."
