CACI's Dr. Lani Kass Appointed to Air University's Air Force Institute of Technology Subcommittee
Senior CACI Leader Offers USAF High-Level Defense Expertise
Senior Vice President and Corporate Strategic Advisor Dr. Lani Kass has been sworn in as a member of the Air University Board of Visitors' Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Subcommittee, attending its first meetings on April 25th and 26th. Nominations for the subcommittee come through the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force, and are confirmed by the Secretary of Defense. Dr. Kass’s appointment reflects continued public recognition of CACI’s senior leadership expertise.
The Board of Visitors provides the USAF with independent advice and recommendations on sustaining the technological supremacy of America’s air and space forces. Dr. Kass brings the Board a remarkable record of achievement serving such missions for both the Department of Defense and USAF organizations, as well as a unique legacy of academic accomplishments.
Prior to joining CACI, Dr. Kass was Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), where her critical military analyses during international crises earned her the Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award. As Special Assistant to the USAF Chief of Staff and Director of the Cyber Task Force, Dr. Kass developed the concepts that led to the establishment of the U.S. Cyber Command and continue to underpin U.S. cyber strategy.
Dr. Kass also brings her perspective as the first woman to be named Professor of Military Strategy and Operations at the National War College (NWC), National Defense University. During her 20 years at NWC, Dr. Kass educated several generations of America’s strategic leaders. Her former students currently serve as CJCS, service chiefs, combatant commanders, ambassadors, agency directors, and senior intelligence officers.
With CACI, Dr. Kass leads initiatives to advance the company's role in national security. She supports the development of CACI’s corporate strategy, as well as the development and expansion of key customer relationships. She also is a strategic advisor and speaker at the annual Asymmetric Threats symposium the company has co-sponsored since 2008.
